Quickstart

Connect your warehouse, read your first recommendations, then connect your AI assistant.

This page takes you from a new workspace to your first recommendations, then to an AI assistant that can query Single Origin.

1. Connect your warehouse

Give Single Origin read-only access to your warehouse's metadata and query history. Pick your engine on Connect your warehouse and follow its guide. Each guide ends with the details to send to your Single Origin contact.

Single Origin processes your history one day at a time. Your first results appear once the first days are loaded and analysed. Your Single Origin contact will tell you when they are ready.

2. Read your first results in the web app

Sign in to your Single Origin workspace. You land on Recommendations.

  1. Open the Open tab. Recommendations are ranked by savings per day.
  2. Click a row. The Quick look panel shows the problem, the fix, the jobs it touches and what it saves per day and over 30 days.
  3. Click See the full recommendation for the cost chart, the change to make and every query it covers.
  4. Use Actions to move it to In review when someone picks it up, or Ignore it with a reason.

Then look at Jobs for jobs whose cost is above their usual day, and Tables for tables that are costly to read. See Recommendations, Jobs and Tables.

3. Connect your AI assistant over MCP

  1. In the web app, open Account → Access Tokens and click Create Token. Copy the Token ID and Token Secret. The secret is shown only once.
  2. Add the server to your MCP client. The URL is https://<company>-api.singleorigin.tech/mcp, where <company> is your company's name as given by Single Origin. For Claude Code, add this to .mcp.json:
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "singleorigin": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://<company>-api.singleorigin.tech/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer <token_id>:<token_secret>"
      }
    }
  }
}
  1. Restart the client and check that the singleorigin server is connected (in Claude Code, run /mcp).
  2. Ask a question, for example: "List my top Single Origin recommendations."

See MCP server for other clients and troubleshooting.

4. Mark what you ship

When you apply a recommendation, mark it Applied in the web app and give the ship date. Single Origin then measures the saving. See Did this work?.
